NP1356: A Brave Engine - A book for children who love trains:  Jeanine Nixon, Ronald V. Nixon's daughter, loved the stories her father told her when she was a child. Many of Ron's stories were about adventures of working on the Northern Pacific. Ron's parents were station agents at Gardiner, Whitehall, Polson, and other Montana towns, so Ron grew up in NP stations and learned telegraphy at an early age. He got his first job as a telegrapher at age 14 in Yellowstone Park. Ron became famous for the marvelous railroad photographs he took while working on railroads of the northern-tier states during the 1930s through 1970s. Children are the future railfans. Many enjoy learning about trains and how they ran. Jeanine published this first book of stories of NP engine 1356 to share with children of all ages who love trains.
